FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions!

  1. Do I need a Doctors referral for treatment?

No, you do not need a referral for treatment as a private patient.

If you are involved in a workers compensation or motor vehicle accident claim and are under an insurance company, you will need a valid Doctors referral. You will also need a referral from your GP if you are under the Enhanced Primary Care Program Medicare Scheme.

  2. Do I need to book an appointment?

It is essential to book appointments at Elite Physio. Please contact our friendly reception staff and they will organise an appointment for you and answer any questions you may have regarding treatment.

Bookings can be made by email, phone or in person.

  3. Can I use my Private Health Insurance to claim for treatment?

All services provided at Elite Physio are covered under private health insurance. A gap fee will apply depending on your health insurance company and your level of cover. Please contact them directly to enquire about your physiotherapy rebate.

At Elite Physio we have a HiCaps facility where we are able to swipe your card on the day of treatment and your health fund will pay the physiotherapy rebate to us directly. Please bring your Health Insurance Card with you for use of this facility.

  4. Can I use Eftpos and Credit Cards?

Yes, at Elite Physio we accept Cash, Eftpos, Visa and Mastercard as forms of payment.

  5. I have a workers compensation injury. Can I receive physiotherapy treatment at Elite Physio?

Yes, we happily see patients under Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident claims. You will need a GP referral prior to your appointment for it to be covered by the insurance company.

  6. I am a Department of Veteran Affairs patient. Can I have treatment at Elite Physio?

Yes, we happily see DVA patients who hold a current GP referral. Please bring your DVA card to your first appointment.

  7. What time do I need to arrive for my treatment?

In order to enjoy your full treatment time, please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your initial appointment time to complete a personal details form.

  8. What happens when I am running late for my appointment?

Late arrival for an appointment will unfortunately shorten your treatment time as we strive to keep time for all booked appointments.

  9. What happens if I miss an appointment or need to cancel?

Your physiotherapist will outline a recommended action plan as the best plan for your injury. You will achieve the maximum and best outcome when you keep your recommended action plan to this schedule. Therefore, to receive the most out of your care and to save time we ask that you schedule your appointments in advance. Your appointment times are reserved exclusive for you. If you can’t make it someone else may. We appreciate you giving us 24 hours notice if you are cancelling your appointment.

    • A fee of 75% of the scheduled fee will be charged if you fail to attend an appointment

    • A fee of 60% of the scheduled fee will be charged if less than 24hrs notice is given for a cancellation

People who repeatedly miss or reschedule appointments will regretfully be discharged from care as we realise you will not reach your health goals.
